When can I join?
Anytime. Membership dates are due the last day of the month one
year from when you sign up.
How much does it cost to join?
There are 3 levels of memberships. Executive $325, Classic $125,
Student $50
What do I get for my membership?
You will receive a membership packet from the EWGA office as well as
the following benefits:

Organized Play:
EWGA offers organized local and Association-wide events designed to
fit the schedules of busy women. It's simple and easy - just sign up
and show up. The Association does the rest.

EWGA offers opportunities to enhance skills, develop new ones, bond
with women in leadership roles and contribute directly to making a
difference in women's lives.

Mentoring Programs:
EWGA offers a full curriculum of golf learning and mentoring

and the only one that has flights designed for players of all skill

EWGA sponsors and other partners offer EWGA members special

Do I
have to be an executive to Join?
No. The organization is geared toward career-orientated women who enjoy
playing in a fun and welcoming environment.
I’m
not sure I want to join. Can I play in an event prior to joining?
Yes. Our Chapter encourages
prospective members to play in one event prior to joining. We do limit the
number of events to one, unless there is a special charity or member-guest
event.
What is the average cost per
event?
The average cost runs around $55. This always includes cart and greens
fee. Prices can be higher for different times of the year.
I am a new golfer. Should I
join?
Yes. We offer a Player Development and a Mini School Program with the
PGA TOUR Academy located at the World Golf
Village and TPC Sawgrass, EWGA members receive a 33% discount. Their
programs are set up for all levels of play. Go to the Home page and take a
look at our Golf Education section for further details.
I shoot around 100. Should I
join?
Yes. Our Chapter’s average
handicap index is 25. This equates to the majority of our member scoring in
the 90’s to 100’s per round.
I’m a competitive
golfer. Should I join?
Yes. EWGA sponsors a
championship tournament series each year. It begins with the local Chapter
Championship. There is individual stoke and scramble team competition.
Flight winners advance to the Florida Sectional event, held in a different
location each year. Sectional winners move on to compete in the association
championship. 2007 finals were held at Hermitage Golf Club, Memphis,
Tennessee. 2008 finals will be held at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf
Club, Aloha, Oregon. In addition, our monthly chapter events vary in
competitiveness.
How many
members are there in the Jacksonville Chapter?
Our Chapter is over 200 women.
How often does the Chapter hold events?
We average 2 events a month from
January to December. We also offer weeknight 9 hole leagues from April to
the end of September. Visit the Events page located on the Home page.
Where do you play your events?
We play at various courses in
and around Jacksonville. We like to support our host clubs: South Hampton,
North Hampton, King & Bear, and Slammer & Squire.
Are there a minimum number of events I must
participate in to stay in good standing?
No. You may play as many or as
few events each year as you desire.
Must I have an established USGA handicap
index to be a member or stay a member?
No, but
all EWGA members are
encouraged to establish a handicap. Every member who is playing well
enough to keep score is encouraged to obtain a Handicap Index through the
EWGA
Golf Life Management System (GLMS)
at no additional cost. If you want
to compete in the championship tournament, you must have an USGA handicap
index.
What type of formats do you play?
Our chapter plays all types of
formats from individual stroke play to match play to scrambles. We try to
provide golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to participate in all
events.
After I join, I would like to be more
involved with the Chapter. How can I do this?
There are plenty of opportunities to get
involved. Event Coordinators always need assistance running events and
there are many positions on the Board. Click on Duties of Committees located
